THE AARI MISSION
AARI provides support and information helpful to the needs of American radiologists of Indian origin and to function as a venue for charitable, educational and cultural activities that allow members to share common ideas and discuss mutual concerns.
This website is here to provide all of us with news and information to keep us informed and to stay in touch.

Greetings from AARI

We are going through an era of "change." The new team at AARI is in place and we are hoping to steer your organization to a new direction. First of all, our appreciation and gratitude to the senior members, past presidents and executive members. We need input and active participation from the membership to make AARI a meaningful forum for Radiologists of Indian Origin.

Some of the activities we are trying for this coming year include

  1. planning a 3-4 days CME cruise to Bahamas/ Mexico in the later half of August. This will provide opportunity to have fun with families and get some CME credits and at the same time interact with fellow radiologists. Please email me with your level of interest in this activity.
  2. Create a pool of CME speakers, who will volunteer for various CME programs in India and South Asian Countries. You can combine your vacation in India with a CME program near your home town and share your knowledge and skills with your counterparts in India. Please provide your CME topics, preferred time to visit India and the cities that are most accessible from your home town. We will try to match your time and skills.
  3. We have established a strong partnership with IRIA (Indian Radiology and Imaging Association). You can submit articles to IRIA (Peer reviewed) journal. You can also volunteer to share accommodation during RSNA, ARRS, ASNR and other meetings with colleagues from India who can not afford to stay in the hotels and provide guidance to first time attendees to these meetings. Please let us know if you will like to volunteer for this activity. Please send the name of the meeting you usually attend.
  4. We are working hard to get ICR 2012 in Hyderabad. If you know influential members of International Society of Radiology, please provide a good word for the same.
  5. We need volunteer Radiologists who can guide and help radiology students and physicians from India for getting clinical and research training / fellowships and help in getting residency and fellowship. If you or anyone you know is a program or fellowship director or have research grants and want to help your junior colleagues from India, please let us know.
  6. We need volunteer teachers who are interested in supporting radiologists from India for short-term training in new skills. If you want to volunteer please let us know what type of help you can provide.
  7. Foremost, AARI is your organization and the success of this forum depends on your interest and active participation. Your constructive suggestions are always appreciated. Your efforts to enroll new and young members to our folds will be rewarding for the future of your organization.
  8. We plan to establish a social network for the AARI members to meet and share their ideas at different radiology meetings such as RSNA, ARRS, and ASNR etc. If you are interested in offering your services to serve as a coordinator for any of these meetings please let us know.
